Emphasis - a principle of design, giving importance to something in a design, controlling attention of the viewer.

• Dominance - a situation where something is more important than its surroundings. A focal point, a place where the action begins.
• Subordination - things of less importance (lower rank), if something is dominant, something else is subordinate.
